19 It was composed 1850 as a ouverture for the comedy "Imellem
20 Fjeldene" by the Danish poet Carsten Hauch. In the Andante
21 introduction, Gade uses a melody from the collection ``Norske
22 Folkesagn og Melodier'' (``Norwegian folksongs and melodies'')
23 by the Danish composer A.P. Bergreen. The song has a Norwegian
24 text ``Heimreise fraa Sæteren'' by Edvard Storm. The second
25 theme of the Allegro part might very well come from the same
26 collection, namely the song ``Saag du nokke Kjærringa mi''.
