Ultimate Frisbee Club at UCR is hosting a summer hat league this summer.
Starting July 10th we will be running a weekly "hat tournament" each Tuesday for 6 weeks. We will play the normal pick up game for the first hour to warm up. You will need to have your name thrown into the hat anytime between 8:00 - 8:45. By 9:00 one of the hosts will have divided the names into two teams. When the game ends, each individual is given the point differential for that game. In the case of a tie, everyone present gets +1 points for being just that awesome. For example, if light wins over dark 13-8, each player on the light team gets +5 while the dark each get -5. After 6 weeks we will have someone with the highest point differential (with ties broken by number of wins, followed by crazy competitions). They will be declared the winner and be given a prize of sorts (more information on the prize to come later, it will be epic). If you are unable to make it one week, you simply get a 0 - no benefit, no loss.
Variations: Week 7 (August 23rd we have the finals, in which the teams are evenly divided based on point rankings. Everyone chips in a few dollars and get the winner (and his team) a prize.
If there are a lot of interested players we can always reformat it to some three or four team format.
