++ 1 C chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional)

++ Preheat oven to 350 °F
++ Grease 9"x13" pan
++ Brown butter on stovetop; remove from heat
++ Stir in sugar and vanilla
++ Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition
