+Adapted from How to Cook Everything: The Basics by Mark Bittman

+## Ingredients
+
++ 4 med garlic cloves, peeled and end cut off
++ 3 1/2 c cooked chickpeas, cooking liquid reserved (2 15-oz can chickpeas, canning liquid reserved)
++ 1/4 c chickpea cooking (or canning) liquid
++ 1 c tahini
++ 1/2 c olive oil
++ 1/4 c lemon juice
++ 2 tbsp ground cumin
++ 1 1/2 tsp salt
++ 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

+## Directions

++ Place garlic in food processor with blade attachment and pulse food procesor until garlic is chopped.
++ Add all other ingredients to food processor and run until hummus is completely combined and smooth.
