8 + 1 lb Italian sausage (Hot works well)
10 + 4 garlic cloves, minced
12 + 1/3 t crushed red pepper
14 + 28 oz can fire-roasted diced tomatoes
17 + 8 oz dry mafalda or fusilli pasta
19 + 0.5 t ground black pepper
21 ### Cheese Lava Ingredients
23 + 1 C grated parmesan cheese
25 + 0.125 t black pepper
26 + 0.5 C finely chopped fresh basil
31 + Cook sausage half through in skillet
32 + Transfer sausage and 2 t of sausage grease to soup pot
33 + Add onions and saute until unions are softened
34 + Add garlic, oregano, and red pepper; cook 1 min
35 + Add tomato patse, stir well, and cook about 3 min to turn tomato rust-colored
36 + Add diced tomatoes, bay leaves, and stock
37 + Stir well, bring to a boil, and simmer for 30 min
38 + In medium bowl, stir together cheese lava ingredients
39 + Divide cheese lava among bowls
40 + Add pasta to soup and cook until just *al dente*
41 + Remove pasta from heat and divide among bowls immediately
